This is a limited duration position for 12 months from date of hire.
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for accounts payable and general accounting functions for Life Flight Network. This position reports directly to the Accounts Payable Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates degree in accounting, finance or related field preferred
- 2-4 years of recent, relevant experience required, preferably in the healthcare field
- Experience working with a computerized accounting software package, preferably Microsoft Dynamics GP
- Proficient in Microsoft office including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Able to multi-task in a fast paced, high-growth environment
- Proactive and self directed with the ability to work with a team and autonomously
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with a high attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both written and oral with the ability to communicate effectively and efficiently
GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Receive and organize incoming invoices, comparing invoice against supporting documentation, researching discrepancies, following up with vendor on outstanding questions, matching to purchase order or receiving documentation and securing approval for invoices prior to payment
- Review credit card statements, matching expense items to supporting documentation, and securing manager approval
- Input payables into general ledger, including coding to cost center and expense classification
- Call vendors on any questionable invoice item or price, coordinates with departments for proper information or data to support invoice payments.
- Ensure timely payments of vendor invoices and maintain accurate accounting records
- Resolve common AP errors or problems
- Input and code travel and expense reimbursement
- Vendor management, including monthly statement review, discrepancy resolution, and credit applications
- Maintain up-to-date filing and other administrative functions as needed
- Perform other related tasks as assigned
