Position Overview:
As a member of the Human Resources team, the HR Specialist assists the department in providing exceptional customer service to employees, ensuring rigorous regulatory compliance, and maintaining exceptionally accurate data. Acting as a company ambassador, this role focuses on the swift, friendly and thorough welcoming of new employees to the organization via the offer letter and onboarding processes. The Specialist ensures new hires have successfully completed all required pre-employment and background screening processes and performs other job duties and assists with special projects as determined by business needs.
Essential Duties:
- Generates offer letters for newly hired employees, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the offer letter package, for further review and approval.
- Manages the pre-employment drug testing process for new hires, in compliance with company’s Drug and Alcohol program.
- Administers the onboarding of new employees, ensuring the completeness of their Workday profile and associated onboarding tasks.
- Conducts the pre-employment background check and credit check process ensuring accuracy and thoroughness of records in compliance with FAA and DOT and other regulatory bodies.
- Participate in HR Projects as needed.
- Train other team members.
- Assists employees and managers with general HR queries and onboarding questions.
- Ensures accuracy of HR data and reporting as required.
- Acts as back up to HR Generalist or other HR team members as designated.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualification Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree and one or more years professional experience in Human Resources.
- Healthcare or Aviation industry experience preferred.
- HR Certification preferred.
- Customer service focus. Ability to work and effectively communicate with employees and leaders at all different levels.
- Problem solving, ability to analyze issues and recommend best course of action.
- Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
- Strong organization skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well and effectively in a team environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word).
- For the purposes of the Arizona Medical Marijuana Act this position is designated as safety sensitive.
