Join Our Skilled Flight Operations Team – Gulf Helicopters Company
We are seeking highly qualified and experienced Pilots / Captains, preferably with operational experience on the AW139 and/or AW189, to join our Operations Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of company helicopters and ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance, and professionalism always.

Key Responsibilities
Flight Safety & Operational Compliance
- Maintain full familiarity with applicable Qatar and international aviation legislation and recognized aviation practices.
- Maintain proficiency with all relevant sections of the Company Operations Manual.
- Exercise complete authority to safeguard helicopter operations, passengers, crew, and cargo.
- Ensure all crew and passengers comply with safety briefings and operational procedures.
- Ensure completion of pre‑flight inspections, Daily Airworthiness Inspections, and verification of all mandatory documentation.
- Supervise helicopter refueling when a Company Engineer is not present, ensuring correct fuel grade, water checks, and fire safety measures.
Passenger & Crew Management
- Conduct thorough passenger safety briefings covering seat belts, exits, jettison systems, life raft deployment, beacon use, and electronic device restrictions.
- Ensure all crew members are secured and focused solely on operational duties during critical flight phases.
- Exercise authority refuses boarding to any passenger who may pose a safety risk.
Flight Planning & Decision-Making
- Validate weather reports to ensure compliance with Company operational minima.
- Ensure helicopter performance, weight, and balance remain within acceptable limits.
- Decide on dispatching helicopters with MEL‑permitted unserviceability’s.
- Apply additional safety margins when deemed necessary.
- Maintain continuous listening watch on assigned communication frequencies.
Leadership & Coordination
- Coach and develop direct subordinates to promote competency and safety culture.
- Coordinate effectively with Engineering, Operations, and external partners.
- Ensure adherence to third‑party maintenance procedures while away from base.
- Carry out any other duties assigned by the Operations Manager / Deputy Operations Manager.
Performance Indicators
- Flight hours completed without safety incidents
- Number of safety issues encountered during flights
- Passenger and client feedback levels
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
Minimum Qualifications
- ICAO ATPL H
- Must have AW139/AW189 rating and 100 hours P1 on type.
- 3000 total flight hours
- 1500 total Command time
- 1200 total PIC Multi Engine
- 100 hours Night
- Must hold a valid Class 1
- ELP4 or higher
Experience
- As specified in the GHC Operations Manual, with preference given to candidates with:
- Extensive operational experience on AW139 and/or AW189, including offshore, SAR, or multicrew operations.
- Proven experience in PIC duties on medium or heavy twin‑engine helicopters.
Technical & Job‑Specific Skills
- Strong working knowledge of QCAA (JAR), EASA, and familiarity with FAA regulations.
- Solid technical understanding to work closely with Engineering teams and interpret helicopter operational issues.
- Excellent interpersonal and client‑facing communication skills.
Decision-Making Authority
- Approve or deny boarding of passengers.
- Initiate and recommend flight safety improvements.
- Authorize emergency procedures when applicable.
