Job summary
As a Mechanic in the base maintenance hangar of Ostend, you will be responsible for performing heavy base maintenance on Airbus H175 and H145 helicopters. You will work as part of the base maintenance team under coordination of the Dock Chief and in collaboration with Licensed Engineers. With the right experience and progression, this role offers the opportunity to evolve into a Licensed Engineer position.
Responsibilities & Main Result Areas
- Maintenance tasks on aircraft and components in accordance with issued work orders, applicable manuals, and approved maintenance data.
- Carry out activities such as:
- Disassembly & reassembly
- Major inspections (H175 heavy checks, H145 scheduled inspections)
- Rectify defects
- Component replacements and system adjustments
- Ensure all safety regulations, PPE requirements, and hangar procedures are followed at all times.
- Immediately report safety hazards or mandatory occurrences via the NHV occurrence reporting system.
- Follow all MOE procedures and notify the Dock Chief if instructions or processes are unclear, incomplete, or ambiguous.
- Record all performed maintenance accurately and clearly in the work file.
- Raise defect entries or non-routine tasks for any findings discovered during inspections.
- Support Licensed Engineers during troubleshooting and functional checks.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment, including proper care of tools and ground equipment.
- Contribute to a flexible and efficient planning of workload and support roster based on business continuity.
- Help ensure that planned maintenance is completed within appropriate timeframes to support operational needs.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in base maintenance or heavy maintenance is a strong advantage.
- Blank UK/EASA licenses are a strong advantage.
- Ability to work autonomously.
- ICT literate (experience with Rusada Envision is an advantage).
- Languages: English professional level.
- Logical thinker with strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Team player with a proactive attitude toward planning and continuous improvement.

You'll be part of a team of 40 colleagues, working in shifts of 2 or 3 weeks from Monday to Saturday.
If applicable: This role may also include standby duties, occasional travel to our other offices, or international assignments.
