As HTC, you support the pilot during start-up, flight, and landing by assisting with checklists, securing the helicopter, and ensuring safety at the landing site. Once on scene, your focus shifts to helping the medical team care for and assist patients.
The HTC is a vital link between the pilot and the medical crewâeach crew memberâs competence plays a critical role in the missionâs success.
Minimum requirements
Visby Base
- Certified Ambulance Assistant* or Registered Nurse with ambulance experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in Swedish and English (company documentation is in English)
- Valid driverâs license (Category B)
- Must meet the physical requirements for ambulance personnel in Region Gotland
- Police record extract (sealed, no older than 12 months) must be presented at the interview
- Must pass a security clearance
- We prefer that you already reside on Gotland or are able to meet response-time requirements during standby shifts
Stockholm Base (Norrtälje)
- Certified Ambulance Assistant* with nursing assistant qualification, or Registered Nurse
- Minimum of 2 yearsâ experience in hospital care and 2 years in ambulance services
- Proficient in both spoken and written Swedish and English
- Valid driverâs license (Category B)
- Physical lift test is part of the recruitment process
- Police record extract (sealed, no older than 12 months) must be presented
- PHTLS, AMLS certification and experience from Stockholm Region ambulance services are advantageous
- Must pass a security clearance
*Ambulance Assistant = Secondary school degree in health and social care + post-secondary ambulance training
Terms of Employment
- Duration: Fixed-term (SĂVA) or hourly employment, with the possibility of a permanent contract. Probationary period may apply.
- Scope: According to shift schedule â standby/hourly contracts normally equate to full-time work
- Start Date: As agreed
Recruitment Process
All applicants must pass a security clearance; no serious remarks in the criminal record are accepted. Flight-specific training is provided during the onboarding period.
Recruitment is ongoing and expected to conclude in September 2025.

The Visby and Norrtälje bases operate Airbus H145 helicopters. In cases of weather-related flight restrictions, the HTC and anaesthesia nurse may operate together in a ground ambulance.
