For our team we are looking for a Safety Officer who will be based in Malpensa area, Italy.

 

Duties and responsibilities:

 

  • Be the focal point on the base for all safety related matters.
  • Organize periodical safety base meetings.
  • Participate in incident investigations occurred on related base and as a result proposing safety recommendations to improve overall level of safety.
  • Gather additional information for occurrence reports in order to fulfil reporting liability toward authority bodies.
  • Conduct safety awareness trainings on the base, expanding the knowledge and understanding of flight safety related matters.
  • Safety promotion on the base, including dissemination of safety critical information to the team.
  • Main the SMS (Safety Management System).
  • Monitor the internal reporting system.
  • Lead the SAG (Safety Action Group) on behalf of the Safety Manager.

 

Minimum requirements:

 

  • Relevant University degree.
  • Detailed knowledge of EASA regulations, Air operations 965/2012 (including SPAs HOFO, HEMS and DG), and Continuing Airworthiness 1321/2014.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as safety engineer in a helicopter operation.
  • Knowledge on management of change and risk analysis.
  • Knowledge of ICAO standards and European requirements on safety management.
  • An understanding of management systems, including compliance monitoring systems.
  • An understanding of risk management.
  • An understanding of safety investigation techniques and root cause methodologies.
  • An understanding of HF.
  • Understanding and promotion of a positive safety culture.
  • Operational experience related to the activities of the organization.
  • Safety management experience.
  • Interpersonal and leadership skills and the ability to influence staff.
  • Data management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Language proficiency in English and Italian.
  • Computer literacy in MS Office.
  • The candidate should be available to travel to external bases.

 

Added advantages:

 

  • Previous experience as Safety Manager in EASA environment.
  • Be familiar with operational and technical aspects of the AW189, 139 and 169.
  • Previous experience in offshore operations and HEMS.
  • Formal training in auditing techniques.
  • Previous experience in delivering training.
  • Previous working experience in the Part-145 regulation.
  • Previous experience in safety investigations and crisis management.
