Pilot (Functional Check Flight)  MH-60R/MH-60S

Description:

Perform test flights to measure and demonstrate aircraft proficiency upon completion of aircraft maintenance or modification on the aircraft.

 Essential Responsibilities:\

  • Pilot and navigate the flight for the MH-60R helicopter.
  • Assist RSNF designated FCF Pilots with all portions of maintenance functional check flights, including preflight briefing, preflight, flight checks, post flight and all required FCF documentation.
  • Coordinate with maintenance contractors for in-flight troubleshooting discrepancies, and verifications of maintenance actions or repairs, by conducting ground and flight checks.
  • Guide and assist in managing an approved MH-60R Flight Operations Program in compliance with Navy flight manuals, instructions, directives, SOP’s, and local directives.

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Designation as a Helicopter Aircraft Commander (HAC).
  • Past designation as a MH-60R OR MH-60S Functional/Maintenance Check Pilot is required; current designation is desired. Current or previous designation as an instructor is desired.
  • Able to perform all duties independently. A minimum of 550 total flight hours, 50 Helicopter Aircraft Commander (HAC) hours in the MH-60R OR MH-60S, and 100 hours of MH-60R OR MH-60S FCF/Maintenance test fly is required.
  • A Secret security clearance is required.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Must pass an aeronautical/flight physical. Required to climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, crouch.
