McDermott Aviation is Australia’s largest privately owned and operated Heli-Aviation company located in Australia and globally. Operating over 45 helicopters worldwide, we offer a large and unique variety of Helicopters to suit any situation, including the world’s largest fleet of the most powerful, single engine, twin bladed helicopter – the Bell 214B.
With our Headquarters located on the Sunshine Coast, we operate from bases throughout Australia, USA and Europe. Due to significant recent expansion and continued growth, we are looking to add talent to our team of knowledgeable, dedicated and passionate pilots.
Our pilots perform in dynamic, fast paced and changing environments covering all facets of Aerial Fire Fighting, Charter, Emergency Assistance and Helicopter lifting services throughout Australia and globally.
We are seeking expressions of interest from enthusiastic candidates to fill multiple opportunities across our entire fleet, in full time and contract positions across all locations.
Minimum requirements:
We are looking for helicopter pilots who preferably hold the following:
• Commercial helicopter pilot licence
• 1500 hours flying time
• 500 hours turbine experience
• 100 hours on type (AS 355, AS 365, B 212/412, B214, B205, B47, AS355, B206) preferable. please specify any other medium helicopter experience you may have.
• Current CASA Class 1 Medical
• Pre-employment DAMP test
• Hold a current passport
• Full working rights within Australia
The role:
• Operate a variety of helicopters in our fleet to provide aerial application services to a broad spectrum of clients including local and national governments
• Safely and proficiently operate in accordance with all applicable regulations and company policies.
• Conduct pre-flight inspections and ensure that all safety checks are completed before each flight
• Conduct post-flight inspections and ensure that all safety checks are completed after each flight
• Monitor weather conditions and air traffic to ensure safe flight operations.
• Adhere to all aviation rules and regulations, always maintaining the highest level of safety and professionalism.
