The Director of Quality Management (DQM) is responsible to help ensure implementation of LFN’s mission, vision, goals and objectives by providing quality and performance management/improvement expertise and direction, spanning across all disciplines. The DQM is responsible for maintaining and executing LFN’s QM Plan through leadership, consultation, facilitation, education, investigation, reporting, and data analysis. The DQM will identify, develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate clinical and administrative quality improvement activities while adhering to all regulatory, compliance, and reporting requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- B.S. or B.A. degree in Healthcare or Business Administration preferred, direct experience may be substituted
- 5 years’ experience in health care, with a minimum of 2 years managerial experience
- 2 years’ experience in quality management
- Experience with air medical transport strongly preferred
- Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) accreditation preferred
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
- Excellent grammar, verbal communication, and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all employees
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, manage processes and use creative methods to implement and improve procedures and programs
- Ability to successfully manage and adapt to varying business climates
- Ability to travel by personal or company vehicle to meeting locations, including travel throughout LFN’s service area. Must possess a valid driver’s license, automobile in good repair and provide proof of auto insurance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works directly and collaboratively with LFN’s Managers, Directors, and Medical Directors to ensure departments adhere to the principles of QM
- Directly responsible for planning, organizing and implementing LFN’s QM program including design, execution, monitoring, and evaluation
- Provides direction for quality initiative activities, ensuring deadlines are met
- Provides evaluation and recommendations for ongoing QM Planning, including the initiation, implementation, and closure of Action Plans developed to resolve or mitigate QM issues
- Completes QM reporting requirements in alignment with the QM Plan
- Formulates data tracking and monitoring to produce desired information for compliance with regulatory agencies and accrediting organizations such as CAMTS and NAAMTA
- Leads or participates in the QM Committee, Clinical Quality Management Committee, Safety Committee, Communications Quality Management Committee, and Maintenance Aviation Quality Management Committee
- Establishes mechanisms for reporting data for the purpose of identifying problems and opportunities to improve safety, clinical care, and customer service, determining strategies to solve problems or improve services, implementing appropriate actions, and evaluating effectiveness of these actions
- Develops or assists in developing Action Plans when problems are identified or opportunities to improve safety, clinical care, and customer service arise. Consults with Directors to ensure monitoring and assessment of Action Plans are being completed in a timely manner
- Assists in the development of appropriate forms for data collection and analysis
- Assists Directors in analysis of all customer surveys
- Prepares/presents data accurately, appropriately, and timely to Executive Leadership, including the CEO
- Provides oversight for clinical staff, including coordinating peer review activities and ensuring availability and assessment of comparative quality data
- Guides and assists the Director of Clinical Operations and Medical Director(s) in evaluation of quality of care rendered to patients
- Maintains own professional growth through the utilization of professional organizations, seminars, in-service programs, and other self-directed learning activities
- Retains up to date knowledge regarding developments and trends in quality management
