Key Job Responsibilities

  • Operating helicopters in a hostile environment. 
  • Safe transportation of passengers/crew members and operation of the aircraft in accordance the Company Operations Manual and standard operating procedures.
  • All duties assigned by the Chief Pilot including those related to training, flight standards, document control and improvement of Flight Operations efficiencies.
  • Maintaining a highly professional image in both conduct and personal appearance.
  • Communication with the passengers and crew during flights.

Safety and Quality Responsibilities

  • Practice, actively promote and monitor workplace safety.
  • Be familiar with and comply with the Cougar SMS and HSE policies and procedures.
  • Be responsible for knowing, understanding and complying with the workplace requirements for Cougar’s day-to-day operations.
  • Report hazards: If an employee encounters an unsafe or harmful condition or situation or if they are unclear if a task is safe, the employee is responsible to report this immediately to their supervisor or through the Cougar Safety Hazard Observation Program (S.H.O.P.).
  • Wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE).

Minimum Qualifications

  • SK92 type rating is required. 
  • Captain Qualifications:
    • Valid Canadian ATPL (H);
    • Minimum 3000 hours flying helicopters;
    • Minimum 1200 PIC on multi-engine helicopters;
    • Minimum 1000 hours of offshore oil and gas experience;
  • First Officer Qualifications: 
    • Valid Canadian ATPL (H) preferably or exams written;
    • Group IV IFR; 
    • Minimum 2000 hours flying helicopters; 
    • Minimum 500 PIC on helicopters;
    • 500 hours on multi-engine helicopters considered an asset. 
  • Valid Category 1 medical.
  • Accident free in past 2 years.
  • Valid passport.
  • Must pass pre-employment Drug and Alcohol screen.
  • Must qualify for Controlled Goods Clearance.
  • Satisfactory criminal records check.
  • Previous experience in the east coast Canadian offshore environment is considered an asset.

  • Language of work is English.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.
