About Magpas:
Magpas Air Ambulance operates 24/7, 365 days a year—flying throughout the day, and using the charity’s three rapid response vehicles overnight. The lifesaving team provides advanced medical care to the most critically ill and injured patients in the region, working across 12 counties in and around the East of England. Last year, the charity responded to more incidents than ever before, and are usually dispatched up to five times a day from the brand new, purpose-built airbase in Alconbury Weald.

Magpas Air Ambulance is the only air ambulance service to be regularly dispatched by both the East of England and East Midlands Ambulance Service Trusts. Although the charity cares for a population of over 10 million, the medical team is activated most often to the communities of Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire, accounting for approximately 75% of its activations.

Due to the geography of the area Magpas Air Ambulance covers, the charity is called to a wide range of incidents. Such as medical emergencies in rural areas, accidental injuries on farms and construction sites, road traffic collisions on the region’s major trunk roads and assaults and incidents of self-harm in residential cities and towns.

Often working alongside other emergency services, the lifesaving team can be involved with delivering the full spectrum of pre-hospital critical care at the scene, as well as in transit to hospital. This commonly involves managing seriously ill or injured patients who may be entrapped or require specialist interventions prior to transport.

Magpas Air Ambulance is a leader in the pre-hospital sector.
