Gama Aviation are currently recruiting for an experienced Rotary Mechanic to support our Staverton Base located at Gloucestershire Airport. The role will be focused on maintaining the AW169, AW139 & H145 helicopters in Base Maintenance.
Working a Monday to Friday shift pattern, the successful candidate will provide engineering assistance, supporting the Certifying Engineer in scheduled and defect rectification on the aircraft. / Responsibilities:
The Base Maintenance mechanic is involved in the completion of Mechanical and Electrical systems related tasks on the Company’s and third-party aircraft. They ensure the work is accomplished in a high standard in accordance with approved data and Company policies and procedures, including:
- Carrying out assigned maintenance, repairs, and modification of aircraft and associated system as allocated
- Completion of all paperwork and documentation for the work completed
- Issuing of all approved materials to the work via the Company’s computer system (Corridor)
- Complete all work using approved tools and ground support equipment
- All work is completed in a safe and appropriate manner considering risk to personnel, property and reputation
- Ensuring tooling is accounted for prior to return to service
- Completing all post maintenance actions
- Completion of maintenance detailed in the Maintenance Status Report alongside the Base Maintenance Certifying Engineer
- Reporting of defects to the Base Maintenance Certifying Engineer
- Reporting issues regarding Health and Safety or Flight Safety, via the Company’s reporting system (iQSMS)
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by complying with all Company standards and adhering to legal regulations
/ Skills, Qualifications and Experience required:
- Essential
- A strong maintenance related technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical system
- A good working knowledge of the regulations and requirements associated with aircraft maintenance, Health & Safety and Human Factors
- The ability to take responsibility and ownership of tasks
- The ability to understand the requirement of clear, unambiguous communication
- Familiarity with OEM appropriate to helicopter types
- Willingness to travel. This role is based across multiple sites to ensure effective coverage of our rotary operation – minimising downtime during AOG situations.
