Windward Aviation, Inc. (WAI) is a helicopter services company that has specialized in utility work since 1990 and has become one of the premier helicopter utility companies in the state of Hawai’i.
WAI is currently looking to hire an experienced utility pilot on Maui, Hawai’i. The pilot will be on a rotational schedule at the WAI base on Maui, HI. Each new hire may start in the MD500D to build experience operating within Maui County. This pilot will ideally transition into a dual role as the on-call fire and/or police pilot in the BK117-850D2, while also supporting the day-to-day utility operations in the MD500D.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Primary duties include conservation mission support, precision long-line, fire fighting, off-airport helicopter operations and powerline patrol / support.
Job Requirements:
- Commercial and Instrument Rotorcraft Pilot License
- 2nd Class Medical
- Drivers License
- Experience flying in Hawai’i, preferred
- OAS carded, preferred
- Pilot must be able to demonstrate proficiency in external load precision and off-airport operations
Pilot Minimums:
- Total Time - 3,200 Hrs.
- Pilot in Command - 3,200 Hrs.
- Rotorcraft - 3,200 Hrs.
- Turbine - 1,000 Hrs.
- MD500 - 50+ Hrs.
- Cross Country - 1,500 Hrs.
- Night Cross Country - 25 Hrs.
- External Load - 100+ Hrs.
- Hawaii experience - preferred
- BK117 - Preferred
- OAS Carded - Preferred
