NHV, operating under the Danish AOC, conducts helicopter flights to transport technicians to offshore wind turbines located off the coasts of Denmark, Poland, Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium.
The Helicopter Hoist Operator is responsible for carrying out hoisting operations, primarily in offshore environments. Working as part of a team alongside fellow hoist operators, engineers, and pilots, the role is essential to ensuring safe and efficient operations.
The Helicopter Hoist Operator reports functionally to the Maintenance Lead who oversees the maintenance and hierarchically to the Base Manager in Esbjerg.
Responsibilities and Main Results Areas
- Coordinate passenger and aircraft handling procedures before and after flights.
- Assist in the technical preparation and planning of flights.
- Perform Helicopter Hoist Operator (HHO) flight duties in accordance with NHV procedures for the assigned helicopter type.
- Always Adhere to NHV procedures and Operations Manual.
- Lead by example and foster a positive team spirit among colleagues.
- Comply with the company’s code of conduct and maintain professional behavior across the NHV team, including adherence to the Drugs & Alcohol policy.
- Respect local regulations, culture, and environmental considerations, adapting behavior accordingly.
- Responsible for complying with Information Security Management System (ISMS) policies, procedures, and controls and supporting information security objectives
Skills and Experience
Experience
- Knowledgeable in aviation operations.
- Experience in ground operations and aircraft handling is preferred.
- Experience in aircraft technical operations (as a technician) is desirable.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in flexible or variable conditions.
- Hold a valid Class 2 medical certificate.
Skills
- Proficient in ICT and computer applications.
- Languages: English (ICAO Level 4).
- Knowledgeable of, and compliant with, company procedures and processes, including operational, quality, and safety protocols.
- Strong communication skills, including:
- Debriefing pilots, flight crew, and engineers.
- Handover of tasks between shifts.
- Capable of working independently and within a team
- Proactive and able to take initiative to improve work processes and complete tasks on time.
- Strong logical and analytical thinking skills.
