As a Relief Helicopter Line Mechanic you will provide maintenance support across multiple Life Link III bases as operational needs require. This role is designed for a highly adaptable A&P who can work independently, transition between bases and aircraft types, and maintain aircraft to the highest airworthiness and safety standards.
Your Impact:
- Perform aircraft inspections, maintenance, and repairs in accordance with FAA regulations, airworthiness directives, service bulletins, and manufacturer manuals
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, structural, and electronic aircraft issues
- Ensure all maintenance documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant
- Work autonomously at remote bases while collaborating with pilots, medical crew, and base leadership
- Advise the Pilot in Command (PIC) of maintenance issues that may impact aircraft readiness
- Validate aircraft status reports and maintain accurate electronic maintenance logs
- Order parts and supplies to support operational readiness
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, safe, and professional condition
- Actively participate in Life Link III’s Safety Program and continuous improvement efforts
- Learn new aircraft types and base-specific procedures as needed
- Support safe, efficient flight operations—every mission, every time
- Perform other duties as assigned
Your Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED
- FAA A&P license in good standing
- 2–5 years of related aircraft maintenance experience and/or training
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with electronic maintenance log systems (e.g., Veryon, Flight Docs, Complete Flight, RAMCO, etc.)
- Must own tools required for basic maintenance
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals and technical publications
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including overtime and 24/7 on-call rotations
- Ability to travel a minimum of 60% to Life Link III bases and locations
- Must live within one hour of the assigned Life Link III base
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 70 lbs., climbing, prolonged standing, and working in confined spaces
Preferred Qualifications
- Factory airframe and/or powerplant training
- FAR Part 135 experience
- ERP system experience
- Inspection Authorization (IA)
