Rapid emergency air rescue and safe patient transport by helicopter and air ambulance – that's what the non-profit DRF Luftrettung (DRF Air Rescue) stands for. We are one of the leading air rescue organizations in Europe, flying more than 40,000 missions a year.
DRF Akademie GmbH offers advanced training and continuing education in the core areas of emergency medicine, flight operations and technology, as well as management and leadership development. Since 2004, DRF Luftrettung has been an Approved Training Organisation (ATO), offering training courses for obtaining type, instructor, and instrument ratings for various helicopter types. Since 2022, we have also been training professional helicopter pilots (CPL(H)) with ATPL theory. This allows both student pilots and pilots at DRF Akademie GmbH to benefit from DRF Luftrettung's extensive expertise and 50 years of experience in HEMS (Helicopter Emergency Medical Services) operations.
For DRF Akademie GmbH in Bühl , we are immediately seeking support with development opportunities to switch to air rescue as a helicopter pilot (m/f/d) after a certain period of time.
Your tasks
Flight instructor (m/f/d)
- Flight school : They train flight students in theory and practice to become professional helicopter pilots (CPL (H) with ATPL theory).
- Training concepts : You create training and education concepts as well as the associated documentation.
- Manuals : They are revising Operation Manuals and Training Manuals.
- Contact person : You will be the contact person for the flight students (m/f/d) throughout the entire training period.
As a helicopter pilot (m/f/d)
- Air rescue missions : As the responsible commander in day or 24-hour flight operations, you will conduct air rescue missions together with the medical crew and are therefore part of an interdisciplinary and highly professional rescue team.
- Operational readiness of the helicopter : As a professional helicopter pilot, you are responsible for ensuring operational readiness and safety on board.
- Documentation : In the area of deployment and station-related tasks, you carefully record all relevant information in accordance with our internal guidelines.
Your profile
Flight instructor (m/f/d)
- EASA CPL (H) with ATPL (H) theory, (ATPL (H) advantageous), FI (H) Night
- Extensive experience with the Robinson R44 model and corresponding training experience in an ATO.
- FI, teaching qualification and experience in all theoretical subjects as well as training experience on an FNPT II are desirable
- Excellent proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Outlook
As a helicopter pilot (m/f/d) in air rescue
- Valid EASA Part FCL license for commercial helicopter pilots (CPL-H) with ATPL (H) theory or ATPL (H)
- Prior flying experience required for deployment in 24-hour flight operations:
- Instrument rating
- at least 100 hours of night flying experience (ideally NVIS)
- at least 50 hours of instrument flight experience
- At least 1,500 flight hours as pilot in command (m/f/d) (of which at least 500 hours must be experience in air rescue services or a comparable operational profile)
- Type rating on the H135 or H145 pattern is an advantage
