Retirement - CalPERS Miscellaneous retirement: Classic employee 3% @ 60, PEPRA employee 2% @ 62
Health Benefits - CalPERS health insurance offering variety of HMO's and PPO's. District contributes 92% of the health plan premium and the employee is responsible for the remaining 8% of the premium for the whole family up to $3053.70 per month. Dental and vision insurance are also paid by the District.
Life Insurance - $20,000 for the first probationary year and $100,000 thereafter.

Under general supervision, conduct maintenance on District UH-1H helicopters, ensuring compliance with FAA and District standards. Completes inspections, documentation, troubleshooting, and field readiness during wildfire, reconnaissance, rescue and training operations. Supports mission-critical aerial firefighting, reconnaissance and rescue operations.

Regular and reliable attendance is a requirement of the job.
1. Oversees the scheduled maintenance of UH-1H specific components;
2. Oversees the emergency repair and recovery of damaged rotorcraft;
3. Plan the daily workflow of maintenance and repairs;
4. Inspect rotorcraft and systems for condition and continued flight readiness;
5. Coordinate the documentation of the maintenance and repair of rotorcraft;
6. Recover damaged rotorcraft;
7. Coordinate the flow of spare and repair parts with the District's Air Operations Chief Pilot and Program Manager
8. Return rotorcraft to service after major modification, maintenance and repair;
9. Maintain rotorcraft work order packages and compile all necessary documentation on the maintenance of rotorcraft;
10. Track work hours and shop hours involved in the various levels of maintenance;
11. Provide consultations and guidance to the District regarding District rotorcraft maintenance issues
12. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and make repairs to rotorcraft systems and components.
13. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications & Requirements
Offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a background check and a physical to include a drug screen.
The education or experience requirements may be modified or waived at the sole discretion of the Fire Chief. At least one of the education or experience requirements must be met; both requirements cannot be modified or waived. The Sacramento Metro Fire District Board of Directors shall be notified of any such modifications or waivers.
Age
Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
Education and Experience
Required:
1. Possess a FAA Airframe & Power-plant (A&P) certificate.
2. Ten (10) years of experience as a Journeyman level certified A&P Technician performing rotorcraft inspection and maintenance, with not less than five (5) years of experience specifically performing inspections and maintenance of Bell UH-1H rotorcraft or similar variant models.
3. At the District's discretion, Military experience may qualify for the ten (10) year entry level requirement if the level of work and responsibility is equal to that of a Journeyman level certified A&P Technician.
Desirable:
1. Hold a current FAA 14 CFR part 65 Inspection Authorized (IA) certificate.
