Position Details:
HeliService USA is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Base Mechanics for our company operations in Ohio. This critical role is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, safety, and airworthiness of the aircraft fleet supporting emergency medical services.
As a Base Mechanic, you will serve as the on-site technical expert, ensuring all maintenance activities meet FAA regulations, company standards, and customer expectations. You will work on a team of mechanics, coordinate daily workloads, and collaborate closely with pilots, operations staff, and medical personnel to ensure aircraft are mission-ready around the clock.
This position requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, along with a commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence in a high-tempo, mission-driven environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Attends hospital/program meetings or training, as required.
• Participates as a member of their respective program’s management team to promote a successful operation.
• Responsible for daily operations and performance of all program maintenance services. This individual is responsible for carrying out the mission, goals, and objectives of their respective program and HeliService USA.
• Ensures that all aircraft maintenance documentation is executed in compliance with applicable CFRs and company policies and procedures.
• Responsible for correcting compliance or safety issues when directed.
• Responsible for thorough knowledge of this General Maintenance Manual, HeliService USA policies and procedures, as well as meeting operational goals and objectives.
• Ensures discrepancies are appropriately addressed.
• Actively participates in the company’s Safety Management System (SMS) and is familiar with the SMS policies, processes, and procedures.
• Perform daily and periodic inspections, and repair and maintenance of engines and airframe on aircraft as required by FAA regulations and HSUSA directives.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
· Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License
· Aircraft Maintenance: 3+ years

· Preferred: Familiarity with Leonardo family of aircraft (AW169/AW139).
· Must be physically able to push/pull/lift, unload, and maneuver heavy equipment and/or luggage in excess of 70 pounds for extended periods of time; must have physical dexterity sufficient to perform repetitive tasks and motions, including bending at the waist and knees, climbing, balancing, squatting, kneeling, crawling, twisting and sustaining those positions for extended amounts of time in aircraft cargo holds and baggage bins. The employee must have sufficient hearing and vision and ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position.
Training/Specific Activities Required:
- Complete annual training as required by company policy and law on an annual basis in a timely manner.
- Read all newsletters and bulletins to remain current on policies, procedures, and developments as well as to meet all company compliance standards.
- Pre-employment drug screening must be completed and approved in accordance with DOT/FAA regulations prior to hire.

Possible Work Hazards: Exposure to loud noises, aviation related chemicals, and frequently moving objects at a high velocity.
Physical Demands: Sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, pushing, and pulling, keyboarding, speaking. Additional physical demands may be required.
