About the Role
Join LifeFlight as the ACO Training and Standards Manager and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of aircrew training. Based within our LifeFlight Training Academy, you'll lead a high-performing team responsible for the development, delivery, and oversight of training and standards for our non-pilot aircrew.
This role combines leadership, innovation, and strategic engagement—ensuring excellence in training outcomes, compliance with aviation standards, and operational readiness. You’ll also help drive business growth through the development of training products and partnerships across the aviation sector.
This is a full-time role, working on an equal time roster (reconciled monthly), primarily based at the LifeFlight Training Academy in the vicinity of Brisbane Airport. You’ll also have the opportunity to work across LifeFlight’s operational bases, with a company vehicle provided to support travel and training delivery.
About You
You’re an experienced and professional Aircrew Officer with a strong operational background and a commitment to safety, excellence, and continuous improvement. With at least 750 hours of helicopter ACO experience (including front left seat operations), you bring a solid foundation in SAR/EMS environments, ideally with previous Training and Checking experience.
You hold:
- CAO 29.11 competency
- CASA Class 2 Medical
- Certificate IV in Aviation (AVI40119 or AVI40116)
- HUET/EBS, Senior First Aid, and Advanced Resuscitation certification
You offer NVG experience, a solid grasp of ACO duties under CAO requirements, and a proactive, flexible approach to travel. Your strong understanding of CRM, human factors, and risk and safety management ensures confident performance in dynamic environments.
Highly regarded:
- Experience with AW139, B412, or BK117 aircraft
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment
- FLIR operation or RCO/Rescue Swimmer experience
